The International Writing Exchange or IWE is run totally on line.
IWE is suitable for groups of students in private companies, schools, and universities, as well as for teacher trainees and self-study students.
The IWE courses run continously all year round, in six-week modules. IWE students are mostly over eighteen years old, however IWE courses are suitable for intermediate to advanced-level students of all ages.
The IWE offers a unique structured forum with international partners. The IWE courses take place in the DiscussIt Moodle learning environment, and include both synchronous (Skype, chat) and asynchronous learning (forums and email).
Language learners are motivated by having culture-to-culture, person-to-person interaction. This, together with peer-to-peer and teacher feedback, improves written and oral language skills.
IWE courses are taught in groups or to private individuals in a user-friendly environment, by local teachers and by IWE tutors.
All IWE staff are highly qualified with English as their mother tongue. Ruth Vilmi, the founder of the DiscussIt courses is listed in Who's Who in Instructional Technology.
